Fort Wayne, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – The cooler temperatures have settled in across the area. Fort Wayne’s high of 56° Friday occurred before the sun came up. It will go down as the warmest day since December 2nd, 26 days ago. Saturday remains chilly. It will be dry, but afternoon highs will only be around 35°. Conditions remain similar on Sunday, but we’ll add a little more sunshine. Highs will approach 40° with a mix of sun and clouds.

New Year’s Eve on Monday will come with rain showers. Models do show the rain departing during the evening, so if you’re doing anything outside, it should be drying off during the evening. The low into New Year’s Day will be right around the freezing mark of 32°. New Year’s Day could carry a few flurries, otherwise mostly cloudy skies and temperatures reaching into the mid 30s are expected.

The coolest day of the week will be Wednesday, the 2nd. Highs then may not exceed 30°. More mild air comes back though late in the week.
