Jon Wilson

Jon Wilson joins the Fort Wayne’s NBC team from the Black Hills of South Dakota. He spent just over two years in Rapid City as a meteorologist for KEVN-TV before coming to Fort Wayne in July of 2018.

Coming to northeast Indiana is a bit of a homecoming for Jon, as he grew up in Rensselaer, Indiana and went to college at Purdue University.

While at Purdue, Jon double-majored in Meteorology and Communication. While in college, he interned at WGN-TV in Chicago under childhood idol, Tom Skilling.

He also spent a summer volunteering at the Chicago National Weather Service Office.

Outside of work, Jon enjoys being outside and doing things like hiking, fishing, and playing tennis and basketball.

He is also a huge Indianapolis Colts and Purdue Boilermakers fan.

Being from the Hoosier State, Jon also enjoys watching NASCAR and IndyCar.

You can catch Jon’s weekend forecasts on Fort Wayne’s NBC at 6 and 11 p.m.

Feel free to send him an email at jrwilson@fortwaynesnbc.com.
