2018 ECHL MVP Shawn Szydlowski will be back at the Memorial Coliseum this fall, and he’s “more motivated than ever.”

An hour after the Komets announced their re-signing of Szydlowski, the 28-year-old, Michigan-native added, via Twitter, that, “he’s rediscovered his passion and then some.”

After losing plenty of long-time Komets this offseason, Szydlowski is not only a familiar face, but one that has led the team in scoring three separate seasons.

“His point production is so high, but here’s a guy who can play ends of the rink,” Komets head coach Ben Boudreau said after the signing was announced.

“He’s as tough as nails.”

With so much recent turnover in the Komets organization, Szydlowski is welcomed back with open arms.
