FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – It’s not every day that a 13-year-old gets to rub shoulders with professional baseball players.
Britton Helmuth secured that opportunity earlier this year at Parkview Field, getting a behind-the-scenes look at the TinCaps operation in Fort Wayne.
He even got to throw about the first pitch.
Last year, Britton found out he would need to undergo heart surgery, and his baseball career was at risk.
Catch Sports Reporter Megan Salle’s special report on Britton and his journey “Back to the Ball Field” Tuesday night at 11 p.m. on Fort Wayne’s NBC.
