Three TinCaps were named to the 2019 Midwest League All-Star Game on Wednesday.
Middle infielder Xavier Edwards leads the league with a .354 batting avg and should set the table at second base, as an All-Star starter.
“I’ve trained and spent a lot of hours and time,” Edwards said after hearing seeing his name on the team.
“Training at this game to do something great.”
Fellow, 19-year-old, Ryan Weathers takes his league-leading 2.22 XFIP into the All-Star’s pitching staff.
“Really working on that slider, really took a big step for me and my game,” Weathers said.
“Other than that, just trying to stay healthy.”
Weathers added he now feels 100 percent after a recent IL stint.
Finally, closer Henry Henry leads the TinCaps with both a 6-0 record and five saves.
“I thank God and the organization,” Henry said through a translator.
The Midwest League All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday, June 18 2019 at Four Winds Field in South Bend, IN.
The TinCaps went on to win a second straight one-run game over the Captains on Wednesday night.
