His name presides over one of Indianapolis’ busiest downtown intersections.
The racing legend was in town on Monday at the corner of Washington and Meridian streets, which will now be known as “Mario Andretti Drive.”
It’s all to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Mario’s win at the Indy 500 back in 1969.
Andretti is the only driver to win the Indy 500, the Daytona 500 and a Formula One championship.
Andretti lives in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, but he says Indiana has become his second home.
