FORT WAYNE, Ind (FORT WAYNE’S NBC) — “The pace has been incredible. the energy has been through the roof, a lot of encouraging signs,” Komets Head Coach Ben Boudreau said.

The Komets return two top goal scorers from last season, Anthony Petruzzelli and Shawn Szydlowski.

Add one another new threat in A.J. Jenks, and the offense becomes powerful.

“There’s guys with some experience. We’ve got a lot of great younger players. They are going to bring a lot of skill and tenacity. I think you should expect to see a high paced, physical team for sure,” Jenks said.

“We have offense from our defense and our goal-tending is great as well. We’ve solidified all three positions. We’ve got guys that can score, guys that can defend, and we’ve got guys that can stop the puck. Hopefully those are all great ingredients that can go into a recipe going into Saturday night,” Boudreau said.

The Komets play Kalamazoo Saturday at 7:35 p.m., to open the season.
