FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Jaylon Smith returns to the Fort to be recognized for his commitment and charity to the community. Mad Anthonys honored Smith with a 2019 Red Coat and joins an exclusive group of individuals, such as Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Bob Chase and Brian Kelly. As Smith says, this jacket is even more special growing up here in Fort Wayne.

“Being from Fort Wayne, Indiana, born and raised, it’s a great feeling. It’s just a wonderful night. I’m so happy to be here and blessed. It’s something I’ll remember for the rest of my life.” Smith said.

The Dallas Cowboy linebacker graduated from Bishop Luers High School, but continues to find ways to bring back bigger and better things to Fort Wayne. He went on to play for Notre Dame, where he received his degree in film and television this past May.
