FORT WAYNE, Ind. (FORT WAYNE’S NBC) – Darby Maggard graduated from Canterbury and went on to play college hoops at Belmont University, where she became one of the best shooters to pass through the college. On Wednesday, Maggard made her way back to her high school to give a keynote speech at the athletics award banquet. She was also told that an award will be named after her, the Darby Maggard Attitude of Gratitude Award. Between talking to students and eating dinner, she updated Fort Wayne’s NBC with her future plans.

“I would love to continue to play professionally over there. I think it’s going to be a really great opportunity for me. Then after I would love to get into college coaching,” she said. “It’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was a young little kid, so I would love to do that.”
