FORT WAYNE, Ind. (FORT WAYNE’S NBC) – Blackhawk prepares to make history in Indianapolis over the weekend, as the team plays Barr-Reeve in the 1A State Championship game. Before leaving the Fort, the Braves attended a pep rally inside their high school gym. The students and teachers added even more hype to an already exciting match up. Blackhawk guard, Zane Burke appreciates all of their support.
“The support is amazing, from the whole student body and the Blackhawk community. It’s great. I feel like the whole basketball team, we embrace it,” Burke said.
The Braves believe a State Championship would bring their program to the next level.
“I think it would mean a lot to start something new and leave something for the next generations,” Frankie Davidson said.
This team would leave a legacy. The Braves play over Barr-Reeve at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, inside Banker’s Life Fieldhouse.
