FORT WAYNE, Ind. (FORT WAYNE’S NBC) – On Monday, two local athletes sign to play their respective sports at the next level. Aubrey Dunnuck, a Norwell basketball player, will stay in the Fort and play at Saint Francis. While she bonds well with her future teammates, Dunnuck says the nursing program also helped her commit to the Cougars.

“It’s personally always been a dream. I’ve always wanted to do this in my life, since I was a little girl. It’s super overwhelming, but I love it. I’m excited to see where God takes me in the future,” she said.

Homestead baseball player, Kade Kolpien signed to play at Taylor University. He hopes to play behind the plate, as a catcher for the Trojans. Kolpien respected how dedicated head coach, Kyle Gould, was in recruiting process too.

“That was one of the main reasons why I chose Taylor. It’s because throughout the whole recruiting process Coach Gould was always in my ear, texting me and seeing how I’m doing,” Kolpien said.
