FORT WAYNE, Ind. (FORT WAYNE’S NBC) – Before Keion Brooks Jr. announced he would be playing basketball at Kentucky, he switched up the numbers on the scoreboard inside St. Paul’s gym. As the scores read “1944”, Brooks honored his late grandmother. That was the year she was born. She died six years ago, while battling cancer. Brooks believes she’s smiling down on him now, after signing to play NCAA Division I men’s basketball.
