FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – The price of an apartment rental in Fort Wayne is on the rise — but just a little.
The September “Rent Report” from apartment listing site RENTCafé shows the cost continuing on a slow but steady upward trend.
Last month, the typical unit climbed by .9 percent to $783 a month.
In one year, rates have risen by $31.
It’s still one of the cheapest markets in Indiana for rentals. Apartments in Indianapolis now average $878 monthly; South Bend renters pay an average of $946; Granger tops all Hoosier communities at $1,290.
Nationwide, rental costs actually dipped by .1 percent in September to an average of $1,471.
