Woman with life-threatening injuries from shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – A woman is in life-threatening condition this morning after being shot late Thursday night.

Officers were initially called to the 1200 block of Wefel Street around 11:30 p.m. in reference to a reported disturbance.

When officers got to the scene, the woman had already left.

A short time later, a local hospital called the Fort Wayne Police Department and told them a battery victim had walked in.

After undergoing medical tests, doctors concluded the woman was actually shot and in life-threatening condition.
