Woman suffers life-threatening injuries in early-morning crash

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — Police responded to a motorcycle crash in Fort Wayne early Tuesday morning.

The Fort Wayne Police Department said the crash happened in the area of West Main Street and Leesburg Road. When officers arrived, they found a woman unconscious in a grassy area. Paramedics transported the woman to a local hospital in serious condition, but her condition worsened.

A preliminary investigation indicates the woman was a passenger on a motorcycle. Police think the man operating the motorcycle tried to turn onto Leesburg Road, but lost control and hit the curb.

The man suffered minor injuries and police took him to the station to be interviewed. Police ask anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them to provide details.
