FWPD needs help identifying suspect who beat up Walmart employee

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Fort Wayne Police need your help identifying a man who beat a Walmart employee unconscious after being confronted about shoplifting.

On June 14, around 5:49 p.m., at the Southtown Crossing Walmart, police responded to the store to a battery investigation.

When police arrived, they found medics tending to the Walmart employee.

Police said he was battered when the employee tried to stop the suspect from shoplifting.

Detectives said the suspect took off in a vehicle before officers arrived.

A police report noted the store had video of the suspect.

Police are asking anyone with information about the suspect to call Crime Stoppers at 260-436-STOP (7867).
