Police: Man runs into the path of oncoming vehicle

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Fort Wayne Police say a man walking at a southside intersection suffered critical injuries after a car struck him early Sunday morning.

Just before 2 a.m., first responders were called out to the intersection of Hanna Street and McKee Street to a car vs. pedestrian crash.

Police found a man lying in the middle of Hanna Street suffering from life-threatening injuries.

At this point, police believe the car was headed southbound on Hanna when the victim ran westbound across Hanna Street and into the path of the car.

The driver and other witnesses stayed at the scene to talk to police.

The crash remains under investigation.
