FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Fort Wayne Police and other law enforcement took one man into custody after police say he held a woman hostage Saturday afternoon.

It all started around noon in the 5000 block of Old Maysville Road.

When officers got there, they were met with a man who said he was armed.

The man reportedly told officers he would hurt anyone who tried to enter.

Police tried to get ahold of him through phone calls and using the loudspeaker, but that didn’t work.

Eventually, SWAT officers stormed through the back door of the apartment and took him into custody.

No one was hurt.

At this point, police are interviewing the suspect and the woman at the police station.

Police say the outcome of those interviews will determine whether or not charges will be filed.
