The TODAY Show meets Fort Wayne’s NBC Today

INDIANAPOLIS (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — Fort Wayne’s NBC News took a trip down to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Thursday morning ahead of live coverage from The TODAY Show and this weekend’s 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500.

TODAY anchor Savannah Guthrie and Academy Award Winning Actor Tom Hanks are hosting a special hour of Thursday’s show at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to celebrate the Hidden Heroes program which supports veteran caregivers.

During our live coverage, Savannah Guthrie and former US Senator Elizabeth Dole stopped by to talk with Fort Wayne’s NBC Today anchor Julian Teekaram.

Wednesday night, the Elizabeth Dole foundation held a special event for the Hidden Heroes program honoring the families of caregivers including the family of Fort Wayne caregiver Aimmie Jenkins and her veteran husband Andrew.

The TODAY Show’s Al Roker also stopped by the talk with Julian who was set up near the show’s set.

Al gave a special shout out to Fort Wayne’s NBC Today Meteorologist Yasser Kishk and even busted a move.
