FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — St. Patricks Day is Sunday, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait that long to get in on the fun.
The Fort Wayne Firefighters will host their annual Get Green Fest off of Main Street near West Central on Saturday.
The fun starts at 9:00 am with food, fun and live music before runners take to the streets for the 5-kilt race. The deadline for online registration is 6 pm Thursday, you can also register Friday from noon-8 pm at packet pick-up.
Two hours later they’ll start turning the St. Mary River green. The party lasts until 11 pm, which gives you plenty of time to help support a good cause.
If you want to wait till Sunday to celebrate, there are a few events around the fort for you to get in on the fun. In addition to their tent party on Saturday, JK O’Donnell’s plans to open their doors Sunday to keep the good times rolling.
Normally the restaurant wouldn’t be open on Sundays, but because it is St. Patrick’s Day they’re making an exception this year. It will be an all-day event at the pub off of West Wayne Street, with doors opening at 11:00 am and closing set for midnight. There will be live music at JK O’Donnell’s from 2:00-5:00 pm
Deer Park plans to start their big bash Friday at 6 o’clock and keep things rolling through Sunday. Deer Park’s annual Clover Classic will take place at their Leesburg Road location. On Sunday, they’ll have a parade starting at 1:15 in the afternoon.

With a name like O’Sullivan’s, you knew the Irish-themed bar off of West Main Street would get in on the fun. Just like Deer Park, they’ll get things rolling Friday and keep the party going throughout the weekend with live music and plenty of green beer.
