The worst fears of the Indiana Pacers and their fans were confirmed Thursday afternoon by the team; All-Star guard Victor Oladipo will miss the remainder of the season with a right knee injury.
Wednesday night, Oladipo suffered the injury during Indiana’s game against Toronto when trying to prevent a fast break play from happening.
According to the Pacers, Oladipo will undergo surgery sometime in the near future, which will cause him to miss the rest of the 2018-19 season.
Oladipo, who won the NBA’s Most Improved Player Award last year, was leading the Pacers in scoring this season averaging 18.8 points per game. Prior to Wednesday night’s injury Oladipo had already missed 11 games this year due to a lingering knee injury.
