Man, 2 kids fatally shot in Marion identified

MARION, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – The Grant County Coroner has identified the victims involved in a fatal shooting on Sunday.

The coroner has identified the victims as 42-year-old Javon D. Blackwell, 12-year-old Javon D. Blackwell Jr., and 11-year-old Jayzon D. Blackwell.

Autopsies revealed the three victims sustained gunshot wounds.

Police said they located what is suspected to be narcotics in Javon Blackwell’s home. The suspected narcotics are pending ISP laboratory testing.

Grant County Police are investigating the death of a man and two kids found dead inside a home Sunday afternoon.

Marion Police received a call after 1 p.m. and were sent to the 2300 Block of Gallatin Street.

When police got there, they found a man and two minors dead inside of which police confirm were the ages of 42, 12 and 11.

There were no witnesses at this point, and the investigation is ongoing.
