FWPD looking for gun store robbers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Fort Wayne Police need your help finding two suspects who robbed a gun store, tied up the owner and got away with firearms.

Police say they responded to B & H Firearms on Paulding Road just before 6 p.m. Wednesday on reports of an armed robbery.

The shop owner said that two men entered the shop with handguns and tied him up before robbing the store and fleeing on foot. Police say the owner was able to get free from the ties.

According to the police report, the robbers were able to get away with 22 guns.

The handguns, rifles and shotguns that were taken amount to a loss of more than $8,000.

Officers spoke with two people near the scene who said they saw two black men in black hooded sweatshirts running south through a nearby alley.

Police used a K-9 unit who traveled south, following where the suspects were last seen. The K-9 then went into a residential area where he ended in the 300 block of Cox Drive.

The FWPD said the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is investigating this incident.

Anyone recognizing one or both suspects is asked to call our nonemergency number 427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP (436-7867).
