Dorian to disrupt flights to and from FWA

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Allegiant Airlines is advising passengers of likely delays or cancellations of flights to its Florida destinations. That includes three airports directly connected to Fort Wayne International Airport.

Allegiant currently offers service from FWA to St. Petersburg and to Punta Gorda, on Florida’s Gulf Coast, and to Sanford, serving the vacation-centric Orlando area.

A recently announced seasonal nonstop flight to Sarasota is not operational.

Allegiant posted an alert on its website reading, in part: Travel dates (Aug. 31-Sept. 2) may be disrupted due to the weather conditions.  Please continue to monitor this page for updates regarding your flight. Our Contact Center is experiencing long hold times due to Hurricane Dorian. As of late Friday afternoon, Dorian was projected to make landfall Monday in the vicinity of West Palm Beach — with hurricane conditions extending for dozens extending to the north, south and west.
