FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – About 300,000 folks will attend this weekend’s Fort Wayne Air show featuring the US Air Force Thunderbirds, air performers and interactive ground entertainment.

To make sure your trip to the 122nd Fighter Wing Base goes smoothly, here is everything you need to know about the Air Show:

Do I have to buy tickets? 

General admission is free, but there is a limited number of premium seating up for grabs. Click here for more info.

What time should I get there?

Saturday, June 8th and Sunday, June 9th

8 AM: Parking begins and gates open
11 AM: Flying begins
4 PM: Flying ends
5 PM: Gates close

What is the performance schedule?

Due to security and weather reasons, the air show does not release specific times for performances. Organizers suggest you arrive early to make sure you don’t miss anything.

All acts are scheduled for both days of the show.

Where do I park?

General visitors have two different options for parking.

  1. PARK AND RIDE: You can approach the airport from the west on Airport Expressway East Bound. Traffic control will direct you to the North Parking area on Smith Road or south on Ardmore Road at the Fort Wayne Metals parking area.
  2. PARK AND WALK: Or you can approach from I-469, north on Bluffton Road, West on Winters Road to the South Parking area. You will be able to walk from this location to the Air Show.

  • Large umbrellas
  • Portable awnings or tents
  • Bicycles
  • Scooters (except for physically challenged persons)
  • Skateboards
  • E-cigarettes
  • Laser pointers
  • Ladders or step stools

  • UAV’s or drones
  • Loose ice
  • Cans
  • Glass
  • Alcohol
  • Pets
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Dangerous objects
  • Cooking equipment
  • Roller-blades or inline skates
