FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Folks were freezin’ for a reason out at Matea County Park Saturday.

The annual Polar Plunge is a fundraiser that benefits Special Olympics Indiana.

It’s a way to support athletes and their families, as well as reinforcing how important inclusion is to our community.

This year, organizers say they had almost double the number of plungers. They are hoping to raise $27,000 to benefit local Olympians.
