An FWPD officer facing sex crime charges was ordered by an Allen County Judge to turn in all weapons and his police badge at a hearing Friday.

Fort Wayne’s NBC previously reported that Sgt. Andrew Beck is facing charges of child solicitation and possession of child pornography after court documents show that he was in contact with several dozen young girls.

In court on Friday, the judge set his bond for a total of $15,000. He was also ordered to turn in his gun and police badge, and is not allowed to have anyone under the age of 18 stay in his home.

Beck will appear in court again on December 2.

Investigators say Beck used social media to sexually communicate with a 16-year-old Wayne High School student when he worked there as a part-time resource officer.

According to court documents, a Wayne High School student told another school resource officer in early April that Andrew Beck had a relationship with a 16-year-old student.

The teen victim told detectives that she would talk to Beck using Snapchat. She said their conversations were sexual in nature and Beck would send nude photos of himself.

She said there was at least one time that Beck sent her a Snapchat saying he was outside her house, and she looked outside and saw an unmarked police SUV parked down the road.

Documents say the SUV was the same type of vehicle assigned to Beck by the Fort Wayne Police Department. Police said a history search on Beck’s account showed that he looked up the victim’s information several times, and GPS tracking confirmed he drove by her home.

Beck is facing charges of child seduction, providing obscene matter and performances before minors, and possession of child pornography.
