Motorcyclist killed in crash identified as Ohio man

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — The motorcyclist who died in a crash on West Jefferson Boulevard Monday has been identified as a 40-year-old Ohio man.

Fort Wayne’s NBC previously reported that police say the motorcyclist was headed west on Jefferson Boulevard at a high rate of speed. A car was traveling east, trying to turn into the Covington Plaza Shopping Center, when they collided with the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as 40-year-old Robert L Trimble III of Vermillion, Ohio. His death was ruled an accident.

Trimble’s death marks the 32nd traffic fatality for Fort Wayne and Allen County so far this year.
