Portillo’s to hire more than 100 new employees, adds new food truck

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — Portillo’s is hiring more than 100 employees for their new restaurant coming later this year.

Beginning Oct. 7, can apply in-person at Ramada Plaza and Conference Center (305 E. Washington Center Rd.).

If you are interested in applying, visit their website.

Portillo’s will open near where the old Sears used to operate in the Glenbrook Square Mall.

Portillo’s is a Chicago-style restaurant that specializes in hot dogs, Italian beef and burgers.

The 7,800 square foot restaurant will include seating for more than 190 guests, a seasonal outdoor patio with seating for 48 guests, a double drive-thru and an adjacent parking lot.

A focal point for the restaurant will be a large-scale mural dedicated to the Fort Wayne Daisies, a local women’s baseball team that dates back to the 1940’s.

You can read more about the new location here.

Portillo’s is giving folks in the Fort a taste of their menu by launching a food truck.

If you can’t wait for their opening, well you’re in luck.

Fort Wayne residents will be given the first taste of the restaurant’s menu with a brand new food truck hitting the area the Oct. 7.

The food truck will be moving daily from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and again from 4-7 p.m.

People can find the food truck and get location updates by following @beefbusofficial on Instagram and Twitter.

Food goers will have until November 19 to get their hands-on Portillo’s Beef Bus Food Truck goodies.
