FWPD Officer facing child seduction charges

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — A Fort Wayne Police officer is facing multiple sexually related charges stemming from a joint investigation, according to Indiana State Police.

According to a release, an investigation into allegations made against officer Andrew Beck started in April. Investigators say they discovered evidence Beck used social media to sexually communicate with a 16-year-old Wayne High School Student. Beck worked as a part-time resource officer at Wayne High School.

Beck is facing charges of Child Seduction, Providing obscene matter and performances before minors, and Possession of child pornography.

Beck is out of state serving in the military, but U.S. Marshals took him into custody Thursday evening. He is being held at a detention center in California and will be held there until he is extradited to Indiana.
