FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – A shooting in the 2700 block of Euclid Ave. left one man with life threatening injuries Wednesday night.

Just before 8:00 pm, police responded to reported gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the front yard of the home.

Officers say they performed CPR on the man until paramedics took over. He remains in life-threatening condition.

Police say they believe the victim got into a fight with a male relative, in which gunshots were fired, and the victim was struck. That relative stayed on scene to talk with officers. He is considered a person of interest only at this time.

Officers also say they recovered a handgun at the scene.

Detectives say they went door to door interviewing witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
