FORT WAYNE, Ind. (FORT WAYNE’S NBC) – The Notre Dame Irish prepare for its first game on Monday, as the team opens the year against Louisville.

Head Coach Brian Kelly expects his captains and experienced player to be ready out of the gate, but is now sure how the team’s mentality will come together into a game just yet.”

He certainly trusts their preparation and process though.

“I think the mindset of this group comes together after the first game. I’m not sure what that is right now. Are they going to go in and hang in there? Or are they going in there and exerting their will,” Kelly says. I think Ian Book is a really good player. I think Julian Okwara is a really good player. I think Alohi Gilman is a really good player. I think those guys that we know about are going to play at a high level. I think by in large, our process will take care of itself.”
