ANGOLA, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — The skies in Angola just got a whole lot more colorful.

Friday marks the kickoff of the 10th Annual Angola Balloons Aloft event that takes off at the Angola High School.

The free event features balloon pilots from across the country who will compete for prizes in the hot air balloon competition that takes place Saturday morning at 7 a.m.

Those in attendance can pay for helicopter rides and balloon rides, as well as take part in the free Kid’s Zone, Animal Oasis and various food and retail vendors.

Friday evening, they will have a mass balloon launch at 7 p.m. and a hot air balloon illumination at twilight.

Saturday’s events include face painting, a chance to meet the balloon pilots, and demonstrations from Science Central and Soarin’ Hawk Raptor Rehab. See a full list of events for the days here.
