Police investigating after woman found dead, covered in blood

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as a 75-year-old woman.

The woman has been identified as Sally Ann Duncan-Sanders, 75, of Fort Wayne. Her cause of death has been determined to be multiple stab wounds, and her manner of death is homicide.

Duncan-Sanders is the 7th homicide in Allen County so far this year.

Police are investigating after a woman was found covered in blood in a home on the northwest side of town.

Police say the EMS and Fort Wayne Fire Department were called to 3020 Lincolndale Avenue regarding a medical event around 5:22 p.m. on Tuesday.

When they arrived, they found a woman inside of the home covered in blood. The emergency crews said they immediately called police.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Allen County Coroner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy to determine her cause of death.

At the time of this report, the investigation is ongoing. Officers ask that anyone who has information regarding the incident call Crime Stoppers 260-436-STOP (7867).
