Ducklings safe after being rescued from storm drain

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — 10 baby ducks are safe after emergency crews helped save them from a storm drain.

Nicki Navarro said she was driving down Illinois Road, near Scott Road, when she saw a mother duck in distress near a storm drain by the road.

She said she pulled over to try and get the ducklings out, but she was not able to reach them. So, she called in backup.

Sheriff’s deputies and Aboite fire volunteers came to the rescue, and reunited all 10 ducks with their mother.
