Fort Wayne police: 3 people shot, possible connection being investigated

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — Fort Wayne police are investigating after three people were injured following shootings on the city’s south side Monday evening.

Police say they first received a call regarding reports of a shooting in the area of the Pontiac Street roundabout, near Wayne Trace. Then at 6:59 p.m., a call was made from 2 people in the 3500 block of Reed Street who had been shot. Officers say they believe the shooting actually happened near the roundabout, and the victims then drove to the Reed Street location.

Officers say when they arrived, they saw a subject running to the rear of the home. Police spoke with one of the victims, who told police they were shot in the leg, but said the officer needed to assist his friend who was in a nearby SUV.
