Police searching for suspect in attempted Chase Bank armed robbery

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — The Fort Wayne Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in an attempted bank robbery in December.

Fort Wayne’s NBC previously reported that police responded to a call regarding an armed suspect demanding money at the Chase Bank on East Pettit Ave. on Dec. 18 of 2018.

Officers say the suspect approached a teller and handed over a handwritten note that demanded cash. The note also indicated that he was armed with a handgun. No one was injured during the incident, and the suspect did not get any money.

The suspect is described as a black man 5’6″ – 5’8″ tall, weighing about 180 pounds, and wearing a hooded black jacket, a black do-rag, and tan pants.

Police ask that if you recognize the suspect, please call CrimeStoppers or 427-1201.
