FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — Two local organizations are teaming up to forge connections with creative community members.
Artlink and One Lucky Guitar are bringing a national monthly meetup to Fort Wayne: CreativeMornings. CreativeMornings was started by Tina Roth Eisenberg in 2008. Now, dozens of cities and countries have joined in on the breakfast talks.
On the second Friday of each month, locals who consider themselves “creative” will be invited to the free event, featuring a short talk by a local creative, a Q&A, and free breakfast. (Everyone is creative!)
The first event is on Friday, Jan. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at The B-Side at One Lucky Guitar. The speaker will be designer and musician, Nate Utesch, talking about the theme “surreal.” Speakers are chosen based on the global monthly theme.
But One Lucky Guitar is not the only venue lucky enough to host CreativeMornings FTW. Each month, a different location for the breakfast will be announced, rotating from Artlink to other creative spaces in the downtown Fort Wayne area.
Fort Wayne is the second Indiana city to host the talks, following Indianapolis. CreativeMornings FTW was started by Olivia Lehman, who worked on the project in Indianapolis. Lehman said her goal is ‘not only to celebrate Fort Wayne’s creative talent, but also to provide a common space for creatives to connect.’
“We believe in giving a damn,” Lehman said. “We believe in community, sharing stories, inspiring others, and being inspired. Everyone is welcome. Everyone is creative. So join us, and let’s be the change we wish to see.”
To attend the Jan. 11 event, you can register on their website beginning Jan. 7 at 9 a.m.
