FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Residents of the Edgewood Estates neighborhood are worried for their safety after discovering dozens of slashed tires in their area.

Since Saturday, neighbors said nearly 80 slashed tires have been reported to the neighborhood office and police.

“It happened so close to home, it’s just so terrifying, because what happens when they graduate from slashing tires?” Laura Hays, a neighbor said. “What happens when they get bored with that?”

With the holidays around the corner, neighbors said they are forced with a difficult decision between fixing their car tires in order to go to work or buying Christmas presents for their kids.

Neighbors said they are joining a neighborhood Facebook page to help the community be on the lookout for suspicious activity.
