FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — The Landing has announced a brewery as their newest tenant.
On Thursday, Aug. 6, The Landing Fort Wayne announced that a new business is moving into a large historic building, located at 118 Columbia Street.
It’s a collaboration between Fort Wayne Native, Caleb France, and Founder of Utopian Coffee, Brendon Maxwell. The two are debuting their flagship brewery and BBQ concept together, something The Landing says is "exactly the kind of energy-inducing retail space and owner-operators The Model Group has been targeting from the start."
Fort Wayne’s NBC previously reported that Maxwell’s Utopian Coffee was The Landing’s first tenant.
“We have been looking a while now for the perfect opportunity to be a part of Fort Wayne’s vibrant food and beverage scene. When the opportunity was presented for Brendon and myself to be a part of The Landing Neighborhood, we couldn’t resist. We completely resonate with The Model Group’s vision for The Landing and the chance to build community downtown. We’re taking what we know about our neighbors and our surroundings to help build an exciting future for this area. We are thrilled to not only create a brewery within the downtown core, but to do it with the help and influence of the community,” said Caleb France.
The Landing development is part of a $34.5 million project to redevelop seven buildings and two parking lots on West Columbia Street. The project has been approved to receive funds through the state’s Industrial Recovery Tax Credit (IRTC), also known as the DINO tax credit, which provides an incentive to revitalize older buildings like the ones on West Colombia Street.
