One man is dead after a car and motorcycle collided early Friday morning.

It happened just before 1am at the intersection of Hanna St. and E. Rudisill.

Police say the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on E. Rudisill Blvd when the Cadillac driver that was traveling westbound on E. Rudisill Blvd. attempted to make a turn onto Hanna St. in front of the motorcycle, causing the two vehicles to collide.

No other cars were involved and the driver of the Cadillac was not injured.

The motorcycle rider was in critical condition at the scene but was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

At this point, alcohol is believed to be a factor on behalf of the Cadillac driver.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.

The driver of the Cadillac remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
