The Blackhawk Christian boys basketball team secured a win at the 1A state finals Saturday morning.

Jay County, Northfield to represent Fort Wayne area at semi-state

Then there were two. Saturday saw plenty of the top high school baseball team around Fort Wayne eliminated. Still standing are Jay County of 3A and Northfield of 1A, as took care of business through regionals en route to semi-state championship appearances. Both teams will play Saturday, June 9, in Kokomo. Northfield does battle with Daleville at 1 p.m. for a chance at a trip to the state finals. Jay County follows at 3 p.m. against Andrean.

Leo High School Rugby team wins state title

LEO-CEDARVILLE, Ind. Concordia rallies for back-to-back sectional titles

New Haven (20-9) and Concordia (17-9) mercied their ways to a sectional title matchup, combining for 28 runs in their last outings, but on Memorial Day it would take the Cadets just two runs to win, both of which would not come until the last inning of play. Memorial Day was a different story, as both teams stayed scoreless until the fifth inning when New Haven’s Chris Scheid put the ball in play to force a sacrifice fly that brought in Kasey Paschal from third.

A big signing day in the Fort, as three students from Northrop High School are moving on to the next level, along with a multi-sport athlete out of Woodlan. Football star Gavin Schoenle goes on to play at Ohio Dominican University.
