When a semi truck just didn’t have the horsepower to get up an icy driveway in Minnesota, a pair of Belgian draft horses came to the rescue.

9-year-old Sammie Vance from Fort Wayne helped spread the idea of the buddy bench. A bench where someone who is lonely can sit and then other students may join them. The idea is to help kids form friendships and combat loneliness in schools. Sammie started collecting recycled caps to make the buddy benches. Now they exist in several Fort Wayne schools. The Allen County Fair is all about 4-H. Tobyn Smith has been participating in the program for nine years. He was kind enough to show morning anchors Julian Teekaram and Pauleen Le what it’s all about. His favorite 4-H projects includes Swine and Sheep; because he gets to connect with the animal which makes them and himself better. Tobyn is a 2018 Top Achiever in the 4-H program.

Wednesday, July 18 is National Hot Dog Day! In honor of the holiday, morning anchors Julian Teekaram and Pauleen Le are learning how to make the perfect hot dog at Fort Wayne’s Famous Coney Island. The business was recently featured in a People Magazine article about the best coney dogs in every state.
