CINCINNATI, Ohio (NBC) – A half-ton toddler entered the terrible twos at the Cincinnati Zoo Thursday.
Fiona was born premature and weighed far less that healthy hippo should at birth. That’s why keepers say this birthday means so much.
Her human handlers banded together to make sure their girl made it through.
She did, and now she’s doing fine.
And it turns out, this hippo is a ham.
“She’s a bit of diva. And she loves the camera and she loves giving her mom some sass. So I think we would just call her an outgoing girl. She’d probably be one of the popular girls,” Curator of Mammals at the Cincinnati Zoo Christina Gorsuch said.
