BEND, Oregon (NBC) – For some, reading aloud to a group can induce panic and anxiety.

If this happens to a young reader, it can set them back in their learning.

That’s where the Deschutes Public Library in Bend, Oregon comes in.

Their program teamed up with the local humane society to give struggling readers an opportunity to read one-on-one with a dog and her trainer.
