(KARE) An 11-year-old boy is being hailed a hero after rescuing a man who was drowning in an indoor pool at an apartment complex in Minnesota.

Eagan Police responded to the call early Sunday morning. When they arrived, they found a 34-year-old man who was partially conscious.

Officers say the man was in the shallow end and ventured to the deep end. He then went underwater and didn’t resurface.

Police say the only person at the pool who could swim was 11-year-old Advaik Nandikotkur. The fifth-grader jumped in the pool and pulled the man to the ledge, where adults lifted him out of the water.

Advaik’s uncle performed CPR, and was able to revive the man after a few minutes. He was then taken to a nearby hospital, and was released a few hours later.
