SUN PRAIRE, Wisconsin (WKOW) – Officials in Wisconsin released police dash cam video the moment a gas main exploded this summer in the middle of a downtown Sun Prairie.

During a news conference Thursday, officials said they have found no probable cause to pursue criminal charges related to the explosion July 10 that killed a Sun Prairie firefighter and destroyed numerous downtown buildings.

Sun Prairie Police Chief Patrick Anhalt said the explosion was caused by a crew from VC Tech after the intersection of Main and Bristol streets was improperly marked.

Investigators say the intersection was not completely marked because of miscommunication between subcontractors.
