(NBC) – The busiest travel time of the year may be slow-going for the millions of traveling away from home for the holiday season as a massive storm system continues its march across the country.

“Today, December 20th is going to be the worst time to travel nationally. We do anticipate we are going to see some tight congestion all the way up to December 24th,” Tamara Johnson with AAA says.

“Drivers definitely want to make sure that they’re slowing down, leave a little additional driving space, between you and the vehicle in front of you.”
