FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne's NBC) -- The Allen County Coroner identified the victim in a fatal shooting Tuesday evening as a 39-year-old man.
Police were called to the 2300 block of John Street around 10:50 p.m. after reports of shots fired at a car crash.
When officers arrived, they say they found a man who'd been shot inside his crashed car.
He died at the scene.
Wednesday, the coroner identified the victim as Johnny Mathes Foy III of Fort Wayne.
His cause of death was found to be a gunshot wound of the chest and his death was ruled a homicide.
His death marks the 32nd homicide in Fort Wayne and Allen County this year.
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — Fort Wayne Police responded to reports of a shooting and a car crash in the 2300 block of John Street at around 10:50 Tuesday night.
Officers say they believe the shooting happened while the victim was inside the vehicle, which then crashed into a vehicle parked on John Street.
The man died at the scene.
Detectives say they are working to obtain additional details and have no suspect information at this time.
