FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The name Kilwins is synonymous with premium chocolate and ice cream.
And now the famous franchise is in our city!
Fall is in the air and so is the smell of caramel corn, Mackinac Island Fudge, and waffle cones. Fort Wayne finally has a Kilwins, thanks to the husband and wife team of Paul and Renee Marinko.
"God's good timing in it and we've been working at it for four years so to finally do it has been a huge blessing," said Renee.
From chocolate coated rice krispie treats to delicious caramel apples served year round, more than half of the goodies you see on the shelves are made in store.
The Kilwins staff had to undergo intense training at Kilwins University in Petoskey Michigan to learn how to make the company's famous confections.
Fort Wayne's NBC Today anchors Jack and Julian even had the chance to join in on the caramel corn making process.
Kilwins has plenty of events planned for the month of October. Click here for more information.
